Bridgewater Equity Release
Bridgewater Equity Release Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Grainger plc and an award winning provider of home reversion plans.
The plans are distributed through authorised and regulated Independent Financial Advisors (IFA's) to ensure all our customers receive appropriate advice. Bridgewater plans are available to homeowners over the age of 65 who seek to release equity from their home. The flexible plans allow customers to choose how much of their property to sell and when. The cash they receive is dependent on the property value, the porportion they sell and the age of the customer(s). The customer then has the right to live in their home rent-free for the remainder of their lives or until they move into long term care.
The growth in home reversion plans is currently being driven by a number of factors including:
- Insufficient pension provision
- Growing proportion of population in retirement putting strain on the benefits system
- Increased longevity
- Substantial increase of asset value in consumer property built up over last 40 years
- Changing attitudes in retirement
