


Grainger own over 7,600 residential properties occupied by regulated tenants. The tenants have "security of tenure" so can remain in their properties all their lives but have certain obligations such as paying a "fair" rent set by the rent officer and keeping the property in good decorative order. As landlords we are responsible for maintenance and repairs and we take our management obligations very seriously.
Succession to the tenancy is allowed to certain family members either on the same terms or as an assured tenant at a market rent. Despite new tenancies not being created since January 1998, our aim is to annually replace stock that becomes vacant and sold.
