Land & Development Sites | Adding value to undeveloped land and disused buildings
 default section image

Grainger's land and development portfolio includes brownfield, greenfield and urban sites

At any one time, Grainger's property portfolio includes a number of green or brownfield sites, as well as redevelopment sites in or near major population centres.

Our general strategy for the land we acquire has been to add value by preparing innovative proposals, securing planning consent, preparing basic infrastructure and offering parcels for sale to other developers or house builders. We are now looking at longer term involvement including the development and retention of some or all of our sites. At our site in Basingstoke, we are currently building a 25-unit, mixed-use scheme which will be retained and rented out on completion.

The urban sites we acquire include substantial buildings such as former schools and warehouses with potential for conversion, as well as vacant blocks of flats ripe for reinvention as desirable apartments. Most of these properties we sell on completion, but some we retain within our market lets portfolio.
